Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most, from first enquiry to final handover.
General
What services does Godeco offer?
We provide construction, renovation, and interior design services for both residential and commercial spaces, including landed homes, offices, and corporate developments, tailored to each client's brief and budget.
Does Godeco take on small projects, like renovating just one room?
Godeco is built around full-space transformations rather than single-room updates. Our projects typically span a minimum of three areas, such as a kitchen, multiple bedrooms, and living spaces, so our process and consultant model are suited to comprehensive renovations rather than isolated fixes.
What type of properties does Godeco cater to?
For residential clients, Godeco focuses on landed properties, bungalows and semi-detached homes, rather than individual apartment or condominium units. On the construction and commercial side, our scope extends further, including high-rise developments, shoplots, hotels, and resorts. If you're unsure where your project fits, a quick conversation will clarify it.
What types of projects does Godeco specialize in?
Godeco specializes in new construction, renovations, and extensions for landed residential properties, alongside interior design, renovation, and construction for commercial spaces such as offices and corporate developments.
How can I start my project with Godeco?
Reserve a private consultation with our team. We'll discuss your objectives, budget, and timeline, then prepare a comprehensive proposal outlining the scope of work and estimated costs.
Does Godeco operate nationwide in Malaysia?
Godeco is based in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, and currently serves clients across the Klang Valley and Kuala Lumpur.
Budget & Payment
What is the minimum budget to use Godeco's services?
Our renovation projects typically begin at RM200,000, with full house construction and larger developments starting from RM800,000 and above. Every quotation is tailored to the specific scope, so we recommend a consultation for an accurate figure.
How is the project cost determined?
Cost is calculated based on the full scope of work, including materials, labor, and any additional services required. Once consultation and design are complete, we provide a comprehensive quotation outlining all costs before any work begins.
How does the payment structure work?
Payments are structured in stages: an initial deposit, followed by installments aligned with key project milestones, and a final balance upon completion. All terms are set out clearly in your agreement.
"I'd like to compare quotations with other companies before deciding."
That's a reasonable step, and we'd encourage it. When comparing, it's worth checking whether each quotation is based on a finalized design or a preliminary estimate, since costs can shift once a full design and specification are in place. At Godeco, we complete the site visit, 2D layout, and 3D design before presenting a detailed cost breakdown, so the figure you receive reflects the actual scope, not a placeholder number. We're happy to walk you through how our quotation is built, whichever firm you ultimately choose.
DESIGN
Does Godeco offer design consultations?
Yes. We offer a design consultation to walk you through our process and recommend an approach suited to your budget and requirements.
Can I choose my own design theme?
Yes. Our team can develop your project in a range of directions, from modern minimalist to rustic, Scandinavian, or contemporary, shaped around your preferences and how the space will actually be used.
Can I request changes to the design after it's finalized?
Yes, though we recommend raising changes as early as possible to avoid delays or added cost. Up to three design revisions are included; further changes beyond that are billed separately.
What should I prepare for the initial consultation?
Inspiration references, such as images, sketches, or a list of features you want, are helpful. If you have existing property plans or survey documents, bringing those along will make the discussion more productive.
Is there a design fee?
Yes. The design fee depends on the complexity of the project, the type of property, and the size of the area involved.
How is the design fee justified?
Design fees reflect the expertise, coordination, and accountability that go into every project stage, not just the drawings themselves. Because there's no fixed industry standard for design fees in Malaysia, we're happy to walk through exactly what our fee covers during your consultation.
PROJECT
How long does it usually take to complete a project?
Timelines vary with scope. Most renovation projects are completed within 8 to 14 weeks, while larger developments or full house construction can take 6 months or longer. A precise timeline is confirmed once the design and quotation are finalized.
Who will oversee my project?
Your project is led by a dedicated design consultant, your primary point of contact from consultation through handover. They coordinate the design team, contractors, and site execution to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
WARRANTY & QUALITY
Is there a warranty for your work?
Yes. Warranty terms and duration are outlined clearly in your contract. We stand behind the quality of our work and address any concerns raised within the warranty period.
What if problems occur after the project is completed?
We provide post-handover support. If an issue arises after completion, reach out to us and we'll arrange a resolution.
What quality assurance does Godeco provide?
Every project is supervised by our team using quality-controlled materials and processes. We also provide a Defect Liability Period, during which we take full responsibility for any defects identified.
How do you maintain quality and safety standards?
We follow strict quality control procedures and comply with applicable safety regulations, with regular site inspections throughout the project.
